The New Baroque Times and La Matrîse de la Ville de Verviers propose an original concert touring Latin American Baroque sonorities.
The chosen music, mainly from Peru and Bolivia missions and cathedrals of Puebla (Mexico) and Santiago de Cuba (Cuba), is a unique musical and spiritual heritage where cultures converge on three continents: America, Africa and Europe.
The austerity of the Spanish music contrasts with the music in Nahuatl, Creole or Quechua, rhythms and amazing exotic sounds, where local traditions are fused with European Baroque.
With the participation of Mexican percussionist Osvaldo Hernández, a specialist in Latin American languages, The New Baroque Times and La Matrîse de la Ville de Verviers recreate the lost sounds of this amazing music.
