It's always been a great pleasure for me to discover new versions of this work and to hear how it's performed and interpreted in different ways based on the different backgrounds of the artists. This particular version displays a totally different approach to the solo vocal part and it's striking the way this difference has been taken advantage of.
On one hand, the decision to change the singer, creates a new variation to the solo, something I have always considered interesting to try. On the other hand, using a voice closer to a more popular style adds a perspective rarely exploited.
I would like to deeply thank Christophe Delporte, Astoria, The New Baroque Times Voices (under the direction of Philippe Gérard) and Eguimodanz for the passion and dedication that they put into this recording.
Dear friends, I wish you the best!
With affection Martín Palmeri.
